For publications, the authentication of the cell lines used, i.e. the confirmation of the correct cell line as well as the proof that the lines are free of contamination (mycoplasma, other cell lines) is often required. GVG performs the genotyping for you using the standardised STR analysis according to the recommendations of the NIH (www.nih.gov/research-training/rigor-reproducibility/principles-guidelines-reporting-preclinical-research).
Our report contains the specific genetic fingerprint as well as the information about the identity of the cell line, based on the comparison with the database of the ATCC, and, if applicable, information about contaminations.
